After wrestling with my old tyres for far too long to get them off my rims and allow me to fit some mucky weather ones last night, I’m in the market for things which will make the process easier next time...
Has anyone had much luck with a cushcore bead dropper? It looks like it’ll enable a more sympathetic approach than stamping on the side of the tyres to disengage the bead (which I may or may not have resorted to last night) but I’m loath to spend £20 on a tyre lever!
Any alternatives out there?
I have the bead dropper and it works very well Tbf. Previously used a big screwdriver with some protection on the end but was bothered about damaging my tyre sidewalls. If you use the round bin method as described in the how to vid its a very easy to remove a tyre
I use my manly hands
Drop the Cushcore and fit Rimpact instead.
I had the Cushcore and found it ridiculously hard to mount and dismount tyres over.
The Rimpact does the same job, it's a lot cheaper, comes with or without valves and gives you some life back when it comes to changing a tyre !

Its a tyre lever?...I always thought it was something else ;). Anyway there are a variety of something else's you could try.
