Im in alston for a few days, was thinking of doing the cross fell loop but theres still a lot of snow about and low cloud means poor visibility so think there must be better options for local riding given conditions. Anyone got some recommendations?

Load of stuff to the east - Allendale etc? Drive over to Askham and head towards Ullswater.
