You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Any recommendations for a bit of lift assist/ nice riding in the alps for a couple days during september? Due to a change in circumstances we've got to go over the next couple of weeks. Not a full on biking holiday cos i doubt if ill get a pass from the boss for more than a couple of days!! We have a motorhome so not bothered where abouts and enjoy the journey as much as the destination so Swiss/French/German/Italy maybe. So does anyone know whats still open this time of year? I know its a big ask!! Grateful for any recomendations. Thanks
You could speak to Stevo @Whiteroom, they've got spaces left for mid September. Although you don't want to stay inn CHalet, they might be able to offer guided/uplift with the group? Great trails and guiding too.
Livigno? Tax free and two parks to choose from.
Eldest_oab left Samoens / Morzine yesterday - he said the valley all but emptied of riders overnight this week, a few trails closed already and some of the lifts being repaired and not running. He thought there might be a couple more weeks riding, but it seems perhaps not.
Choose where you are wisely to ensure uplift I think.
How about Bike Kingdom Lenzerheide?
Thread on this recently....
Bit left of field but if your in the motorhome its not that much further down to Finale.
Our daughter has just arrived back from her tour of the Alps and she said everything was closing down
I'm told that the Verbier lifts from Le Chable are still running and you can overnight stay in the carpark for up to ten days with a ticket from the tourist office which also gives a reduction on the lift pass.
Not decided yet if we are going to stop over for a couple of days riding on our way to Finale in a couple of weeks time

Just come back from two weeks, if you need any tips or help, shout.
We loved it, best family holiday ever. Not cheap in Switzerland, but if you have a camper van to eat in thats good.
Any area?
France, Italy or Slovenia?
Great Suggestions folks. Thanks very much. Dunc. Think northern Italy is possible but reckon Slovenia is a bit far cos we’ve only got 16 days and I do want a few days in one place to chill out a bit. Had heard of “the Schladming six” or something? Any one been?
Livigno. Been in early Sept before, still lively & lifts open. Handy for Stelvio park and pass too.
so Swiss/French/German/Italy
Ochsenkopf seems to run till October. Though I have to admit:
It's absolutely tiny
It's not in the Alps
But I love it.....

PS. Really really tiny.
Hunting season starts around 13 September in most of the alps , this is when the french start to shoot anything and everything that moves , including mountain bikers 🙄
Les Gets always used to have a longer season. No idea nowadays.
Finale? What about Lake Garda or somewhere different or further south?
The lifts look to be open in Zermatt through September. Some amazing trails to get on with stunning views but a tad expensive for the lift pass.
Crans Montana is another spot close by and there is an EWS round 17/18 September.
I live near Montclar bike park, southern alpes, (sort of en route if you went to finale/Italy) it’s open every weekend, with lifts. Good variety of trails and a fast lift.
Also Evo bike park in digne is open fri-mon. Truck uplift and definitely recommended if you like jumps.
Or Could be incorporated into a Provence camping trip!
Leogang/Saalbach/Hinterglemm are open through September and quite a few lift still open into October

I am at bike kingdom now. There’s no one here. Trails are okay it’s not les get/morzine but certainly 2-3 days of good riding. I have been told the lifts run until end of sept
I got back today. France is all closed.
I can confirm what Tracey said about Verbier. Weekends only for all except le chable lift.
We have spent the last few days in Visp / Aletsch. Some incredible singletrack.
Visp requires buses and some pedalling but don't let that put you off.
Aletsch map is poor, looks like not much, once you get up on the lifts its a goldmine, Davos good levels of riding....
I am heading for Morzine tomorrow so hope France isn't closed!!
Morzine and other places open weekends as far as I can tell, not sure how late into September.
Weather looks reasonable for next four days or so.
I think that Cran Montana in Switzerland is open during next week.
Will report back with any new findings !!

We rode there yesterday, it is open during the week. We only did the blue in the bike park as a warm up and then headed out into the hills. Had an ace day out.
My wife also managed to get us passes for 15CHF by booking online.

I think Morzine is open until Sunday, then again next weekend.
Champery and Morgins usually open weekends through to late October.
Just seen this for Les Gets
France lifts always have a shorter summer season than the Swiss ones. A lot of Swiss ones will be open until end October if the weather allows. I rode in Flims/Laax last weekend, and plan Zermatt this weekend.
@phil5556 that's a great looking trail. I did the route from Plaine Morte earlier in the season, but will have to add your route to my hitlist for next year

Yeh what ever happened about that one in morzine where a brit was killed? - young lad responsible if I remember, part of a bigger hunting group undoubtedly with alcohol involved - did he go down for it?

Just looked that up on Trailforks, looks like a bigger day out and might have to give that a try next time 👍
If you do do it there’s a bit towards the end (maybe somewhere near Le Relais De Colombire) where we ended up on a walking path that had no riding signs, we weren’t sure how to go an alternative route once we were on it so stick with it. It was great fun beautiful singletrack though with some lovely flow, steps, drops & roots - perfect to finish on 🤣
We’re an hour from Calais now 😞😞
