A group of us were hoping to go to Morzine/Les Gets in late September for a few days, however I have seen that the chair lifts close at the start of September.

Are there any other ways of getting to the tops of the mountains around Morzine/Les Gets without pedalling?

Or are there any other areas that can be recommended that are worth visiting in the Alps where we can get some form of lift to the top and ride singletrack down all day?

Thanks in advance.

White Room MTB are usually mentioned in this kind of thread - assume at that time they could still offer you something fantastic - maybe speak to them. It will be around Bourg Saint Maurice though (that's not a bad in thing in my opinion...)

White room is a good shout. Alternatively give Riviera-bike a call, there are some amazing trails down there in the Ligurian/Maritime Alps.

Funicular & cable cars were all running in Zermatt in October when we were out there.

Not Alps but Finale Ligure is my suggestion. MTB Beds for the best setup and VFM

Thanks for the info guys, White Room does look like a good shout.

We are hoping to drive to the mountain biking location as Mrs O'C and I have the whole week off work so are going to go riding for half the week with some friends, and spend half the week with Mrs O'C's family who have a house in NW France for the week.

A couple of the suggestions in Switzerland could also be good options as they are not much further than we were originally planning on driving.

Is it DH riding you are after or trail/enduro?

We went to Sospel last October. Flights were cheap to Nice. Pick up from Bri @ Cool Bus. We stayed in Ash's (of TransProvence fame) place in Sospel. We met Bri in town every morning for some Cool Bus uplift.

The trails were excellent with some of the surrounding mountains and valleys providing different riding. Weather should be belting in September too.

Highly recommended

We are after trail/enduro riding with a lift to the top or most of the way up the hills. To give you an idea we like the Blues and Reds at BPW and ride Surrey Hills mostly. We not into the big jumps/drops type of trail and prefer the flowy trails with a few features thrown in.
