Had an email from Alpkit a couple of weeks ago advertising their new bike light. Looks pretty decent for £100 and I need a new light for this winter, my Chinese special is on its last legs. I don't have several hundred quid for something from Exposure etc and I'd like better than a Chinese one again, this seems like a reasonable compromise with Alpkit's warrant.

So, has anyone got one yet or thinking of getting one? (Or have a similar alternative?)

Nope, but I bought their rear light recently - Tau perhaps?

If the quality is anything to go by, I'd be perfectly happy to buy the front light. I'm really impressed by it...

I picked up one if the Aldi CREE lights, only tried it on the garden but the 3 year warranty sold it to me.

I think the alpkit is a generic one with their branding on it (not something they have designed). Looks nice though. My only concerns are how accurate the claimed output is and what the beam shape is like.

the technology for the lights are cheap and the batteries are the costly bit

Any light you like and a decent battery from smudge to compliment it

"UK made lights" will most likely just be rebranded chinese ones with a decent battery for run times

It's a magicshine, same one for similar price on magicshine.Co.UK

On one were selling them for 50 quid but they're sold out.
