Hey,

I'm looking to get an Alpine 160 frame [I've already test ridden a few bikes and made my decision, so no comments on the choice] but being a typical vain mountain biker I'm really worried about the colour.

Last years blue was really nice but this year the sinbad purple is a little er..purple. Has anyone bought one in this colour and can post a pic to show me what it would look like as a full bike? I'd rather not pay the extra £100 for a paint job, but I did prefer last years blue and quite like the 5 in its red.

Thoughts and pics?!

Purple looks rubbish in the flesh IMO. I'd get a brown one if it were me. I think anything is better than that purple though...

Oh, bit embarrased I like the Purple, I think with white fork and rims it would be cool.

Craig,
think he'll give dicount on a cash price,as i did,got mine before the standard colours had been decided by orange, think its now a custom colour?
The one above looks a bargain to me,but it aint a 2011 model 🙂

Got a ccdb on mine, they have dropped in price, but still cost me £405.

John.

lard, its not a 2011 but it is new with warranty, and I'll live with a 27.2 rather than 30.9 seat tube when it cost £1070 with a CCDB 8)

lard yes only 16" in orange or white. I was doing a parts swap from an older FS so old standard 1 1/8th headset worked for my Lyriks, the 27.2 was a bit of a nuisance as I had a joplin which wont fit, but as my HT is also a 27.2 when I do buy an upyydowny for it I will be able to swap between frames.
Itching to get it built now!

My mate has a banana yellow one, looks ace. It's mostly covered in muck though, which dulls it somewhat 🙂

Looks like this, but with white forks:

Sinbad Purple all the way!! i dont mind purple, and its the missus' fav colour so it partially justified spending 3.6k on a 3rd bike 😉 lol
