Spotted a frame on Ebay a few weeks ago, got it for a really good price- was a lockdown purchase doesnt seem to have been ridden at all as it was apparently the wrong size
was hoping I could get the rest together with minimum spend
(Had quite a few spares hanging around as Id just sold an old 26er that was taking up space)

But still needed new forks

Now mini rant about standards....

-Had 35mm bars, but no 35mm stem- so back to ebay,
-new frame came with a BB but was DUB and my spare cranks had htII so new BB,
-then realised I needed boost cranks anyway,
-freehub on my wheel was HG so ive bought a sunrace steel cassette (made of neutron star it seems),
-front wheel had torque caps, so had to find some 15mm end caps (impossible with Formula hubs- ended up with some Sram ones a few washers and a some modifications involving a file)

Found some bargain forks on Pinkbike, and buyer was late posting, then said hermes had returned them, so 2 weeks on they should be arriving today, maybe, who knows! paid with paypal so covered.

Im getting impatient!

I’m feeling stressed after reading that… please tell me it’s not a gravel bike.

So the suns out

...And Evri reach new levels of crapness

Not a gravel bike

I've stuck some old forks in to help get everything set up

Had to go to lbs as it had a 200mm rear disc mount on there and I needed a 180🙄

Foxzocchi z2s

Been on rockshox since I sold my last pair of 44RC3Tis 10 years ago, so keen to see what they're like

if Evri can find them ...

Kona full builds are awful vfm but they make some great frames, this looks great.

The Z2’s are really good forks, my brother had a set on an orbea.

Well the forks finally appeared
To be fair on Evri the seller (pinkbike buy n sell!) boxed it up badly which is why they got sent back.

Only issue was that fork has a 160mm mount and my double +20 adaptor fouled the floating rotor rivets so after some filing.....

Got a quick spin out this evening
Just under 14kg
Deore brakes are a bit underpowered compared to my tech4s! I'm also used to my 165mm cranks with slimmer pedals and I had a few pedal strikes on these 175s
Overall I'm absolutely loving it, Z2s are very impressive too

There's loads of clearance so I've got some bargain 2.6 specialized tyres on the way

just to say im loving this bike, Z2s with one token are smooth, stiff and controlled but more importantly, got some custom fork decals from AliExpress- majenta to yellow fade to match the frame

now has 170mm cranks

butcher/ eliminator 2.6

still needs better brakes, at least some better pads

Its amazing how much it can handle, compared to my enduro bike its more tiring on the really big stuff, but theres not much it can't take on
