So after my fork (lyrik rc2 2019) started to feel rubbish and have a loose headset vibe, it was taken apart and deemed it needed to go back on a hopeful warranty claim. Now first world problems and all that, Said warranty claim sort of has an unlimited timescale on it right now. Service work for most places is pushing 6 week window so warranty could be that or worse..
So it got me thinking to trying to find a cheap ish fork for the interim then I can keep it for a future hardtail build.
So I’m at 160mm 29er, couldn’t care too much which offset but curious to try shorter.
Seen a Marzocchi bomber air for £500 at 150mm travel, is it a simple airshaft change to change travel?
Also seen an mrp ribbon coil for £700 at 150mm. Googling suggests it’s an internal spacer to change travel? Anyone got any experience?
It’s for my rocketmax, it’s always been 160mm travel, would I die at 150mm?!!
Am I being way to impatient?!

The MRP is really easy to change travel, you just adjust it with a few basic tools, eg spannners and Allen keys. It's a great fork.

As above, no spacers on the MRP coil you just adjust internally with tools.

For £700 I'd want the newer seals etc (chocoluxe?)

You're getting close to Manitou Mezzer money. No first hand experience yet but it's the fork that has most captured my interest so far this year.

If what I've read about it is true, the warranty lyrik will end up on your second bike.

I think so, yeah.

You seem to be making a big assumption about the likely turnaround time.

Do you just have the one bike? That's the main lesson here. Have a back-up bike.

I know I’m being impatient, the fact I wasn’t overly happy with my lyrik before all this probably doesn’t help! Add in some of the boys going to Staunton in the morning and I’m itching for a ride!
I keep looking for a hardtail frame to build but it rapidly gets out of hand and way too pricey!

Google suggests travel in the bombers is adjustable via spacers as well?

Funnily enough I'm about to list a 12 month old Ribbon Coil 29er for sale!

Great fork, travel adjust all doable by just spanners. Very easy to work on and trouble free.

Have been very impressed with my DVO diamond on my Ripmo. They are adjustable with spacer in air spring.

Cheers for the Z1 links but I’m after the low offset...
