Seen these ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2400-Lumens-USB-Rechargeable-Front-Bike-Light-Bicycle-Cycling-Headlight-Headlamp/283182605062?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180409081753%26meid%3D8b5fc6e660074dbfad524ab29c6afc72%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D380593447697%26itm%3D283182605062&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219 ) on ebay for not a lot of money. I currently have an Ituo Wiz20 light and I like the simplicity of all in one lights, definitely not going back to cables and separate battery packs. Wondering if these lights on eBay will be any good. The extra lumens would be useful over the Ituo.

Has anyone got one of these?

Can someone who understands these things please let me know if the 4 hours run time will be achieved on the high setting? Currently only getting 2-3 hours out of the Ituo with 2No 18650 batteries so i'm guessing 4 hours with more lumens is pure BS

2400 lumens is stupidly bright.  I'd be very surprised if it gets anything like four hours run time if it really does produce that much light.

looks like the front and back of a "solarstorm X2' in an extended housing so they can bung 2 18650s in the middle...

Might be worth a whirl, but the Halfords 1600 jobbie is £50 are and you've got a UK bricks and mortar shop to got to for any waranty claims, and it takes a remote switch so there's a bit going for that option...

I invested in an exposure joystick which is supposed to 1000 lumens, its bright enough to not need a bar mounted light as well (for me at least!).

Looks quite similar to my Ryder Alumia 1600 and a multitude of other all in one lights at the moment.

I can’t see what bulbs it says it has - if only 2 x xml-t6 then 2400 lumens sounds optimistic and it’s probably more likely to be around 1600-2000 tops. Even still it’s going to be very bright - my 1600 run on full power is brilliant.

It doesn’t last a huge amount of time on full power I wouldn’t say - I’ve got it so the warning light goes from full to Amber (I think it must then go to red before running out) so far. That’s on an hour and a half ride and turning the power down to a lower sensing on the flat / on climbs and just keeping full juice for technical bits.

I also have a 900 lumen helmet light that I use with it and there’s so much light I couldn’t imagine needing more.

I think my point is how many t6 leds? If 2 then my comment above stands - if 3 then that power output could be genuine 😃

Although for £17.99 I’m not sure the batteries are going to be brilliant - if they have a name with ‘fire’ on them anywhere I’d be replacing with decent ones or charging them in a biscuit tin!

Well, there's 2 leds so lets assume it's 2.

Assuming 2600mAh 3.7V batteries, that's 19.25 Wh.

So call it 5W for 4 hours (assuming approximately really means "less than").

Cree claim "100 lumens per watt"

So that's 500 Lumens (assuming 100% efficiency)

If you go through the graphs 2.5W comes out at about 840mA, and the table shows 1A being 388lm so 250 sounds about right.

Even Cree only claim a maximum of 1000lumen per LED, so 2400 for two is bullshit.

That's not to say it's not as bright as plenty of other 2400Lumen lights from china, but it's not going t be more than about 400 if you measured it.

I’d bet my balls to a barn dance it’s not 2400, the Non-branded MTB light market seems to be in a bit of an arms race in the fictional lumen stakes. My “10000 Lumen” light is more like 1500, but it’s still plenty.

At that price the batteries will be rubbish. I wouldn’t.

Cheaper than a replacement helmet mount for my Joystick. I'll still be using that for years though without worrying about unwanted pyrotechnics. Can the batteries on those be replaced?
