I've been looking at the All City Gorilla Monsoon frameset, which arrives here some time next month. It seems quite a unique frame - and one which probably suits my kind of riding well. I'm just surprised at the pricing, it has pretty much generic cr-mo tubing, made in Taiwan and is 950 pounds rrp! The similarly tubed Macho Man is 550 pounds, can anyone shed any light on how a change of geometry and tyre clearance could possibly account for the extra cost of the frameset?
The pricing of all the QBP brands (Surly, Salsa, All City) seems to have gone totally crazy.
They are greedy and know the MTB community is gullible enough to pay over the odds for kit?
Smaller number of frames made? Frame materials more expensive?
People are happy to pay a massive price as it suggests higher quality?
