I have a hankering for a new hardtail, do it all bike
Rides with the kids, the odd trail blast, bikepacking (when it’s too much for the gravel bike) etc
I
I’m really liking the all city electric queen.
Does anyone have one? Do you like it?

What alternatives are there.
29er, potential for fully rigid, steel frame and something cool, that makes you smile? (Aside from the usual suspects, Solaris, Sherpa , P29er etc)

I have a Stooge setup singlespeed for the same reasons as what you state. I've had it about 4 years now and don't see me getting rid anytime soon.

My Stooge makes me smile every time I ride it, I still get "nice bike!" Comments despite it being few years old, built it with cheaper parts and near constantly coated in mud.

No experience on All City but they look decent if a little on the pricey side.

I have no experience of the Electric queen but have been thinking about getting one myself for a wee while, I have a older Surly Karate Monkey set up ss and was looking at getting a newer one to run rigid with gears to do similar to yourself, when I came across the Electric Queen.

The Surly is much the same price for the frame and fork but the EQ does look a whole lot nicer with the glitzy paint, seems it is a bit lighter though with the tubing, which though could be a positive I do like that the Surly can have pretty much anything thrown at it. I'd have no worries about loading up a Surly for a trip but not sure about the EQ tbh.

Interested as well if anyone actually has a EQ and how they are getting on with it.

Others to look at are the Brother Big Bro and Nordest Sardinha. The latter being a little cheaper.

@tdog

Pretty sure its an official reduction across the board. I think Triton have it on their website but also worth dropping Keep Pedalling a line as they stock All City and are great to deal with.

There’s an ex demo Electric Queen available through Ison Distribution at the moment IIRC.

*edit* yes, a medium: https://www.ison-distribution.com/english/demo-product.php?part=5DB1942
