Soon I'll be able to ride to work on a mixture of roads and cycle paths, so looking to get something a little more sturdy than my road bike and easier to maintain - so a single speed cx sort of thing. Came across this bike - All-City Nature Boy, which looks very nice. Have emailed a few of the usual suspects to see if it'll be available in the UK. RRP is £600 for the frameset which is a little eye watering considering it's functionally the same as a Roadrat, Escapade or Pompetamine or Day-One (i.e. singlespeed cx), but it looks a little more refined and has a few nice touches like the rear brake capiler mount.

Has anyone seen or used one, and be able to suggest if it's worth £250 than a Cotic?

Cheers,

Not a nature boy but 1shed off here has an orange one (macho man?)

Looks really lovely in the flesh and he seems to rate it highly.

And Triton always seem to have various models cheap

Then I would personally stick with one of those. I know there is a the glittery bike temptation but commuting is hard on a bike, plus even if you have secure storage its nice to be able to lock up your bike for errands without being too paranoid. As long as you have a half decent bike well maintained for commuting you are golden. You will be half a sleep most of the time you're riding it.

That's a good point. It is easy to get carried away sometimes!

I have a Macho Man which I bought as a frameset for commuting, and really like it. Great finish, fits me nicely, and I now tend to use it for everything. Mine is yellow with a carbon fork which I reckon is the fastest colour combo.

Nice frames but orange is the fastest colour just not with me on it. This is worth reading http://blog.treefortbikes.com/index.php/posts/4083 happy to recommend. I used Triton cycles to purchase it, all good.

I've got a Soma Double Cross Disc which is pretty cool. Similar to a Nature Boy
