I'm going to Alfine my SS for use as more of a family bike. Currently trying to decided between the second generation Alfine 8 (with the shifter the right way round) or an Alfine 11.
Does the 11 shift the same way as standard gearing or it is like the origional 8 (rapid rise direction).
For those that have more recently bought A11's what has the reliability been like. Are there still the issues that plagued it after release?

Cool, good. That is the biggest annoyance I had with my 2 previous Alfine 8's!
