Just replaced the battery after the old one became magnetised. I've set the clock (it's working ok) but cannot get the speed/trip dist etc functons to work when I'm riding. The spoke magnet and thingy on the forks are both set correctly. Is the thing knackered or am I missing a trick? Help please.

Have you tried holding the receiver/readout closer to the transmmitter to see if it picks up anything?

And have you checked/replaced the battery in the transmitter?

I had a couple of these a few years ago. Both were critical for line-of-sight between transmitter on the forks and the display unit.
Finally binned them after the frustrations that they would fail mid-ride for no obvious reason (apart from their inherent cheap+nastiness).

Now I use a garmin GPS when I need to record a route.

Cheers guys. I know wot ya mean Paul but I just cannot get out of the habit of being seduced by Aldi prices. It worked ok for a couple of years.

Pinkster - you solved it for me bud. It was the transmitter battery that was duff (doh!). Just saved me a shedload of £££ as I was gonna buy a Cateye Strada 🙂
