You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Haven't ridden the bike for a 'commute' for ages, public transport seemed easier, and only a few quid. Decided on yesterday to cycle the 12 miles, then back this morning after a late night out. Got back, dumped off the heavy bag, then went out with a mate for a proper ride, just local, but the sun was out, blue-ish skies, and even cr***y Uxbridge seemed like a nice place to be. Ended up getting back, and being the most productive on some coursework I've been in a while, and extremely happy doing it. Basically I forgot the pure joy of riding a bike sometimes, and its positive lasting effect on my mood.
Tell me about your similar experiences of forgetting, and it all coming back, like today :):):). I'm setting myself a target of 3 rides a week minimum now, going to make time around my degree to fit it in.
I did a lot of solo riding last year and was getting bored with some of the trails but mainly missed the social aspect. Took up golf just before the winter as I had a fair few mates that were into it so biking took a back seat. Couldn't ride over chrimbo despite having two whole weeks off as I had flu and could barely walk up stairs let alone ride any distance. Finally got out today, booked into one of those wiggle rides in march as a bit of motivation so managed to do 29 Hampshire miles in 2hrs 40 so was quite chuffed. Loved being out in the open air again getting dirty although my handling skills and fitness were a bit weak. All fun though just having trouble walking now and my a*** is well sore from the saddle
had a mad sesh today on the uplift at Hopton! Havent ridden proper dh for ages and the weather was nice, the tracks dry (mostly) with some sketchy icey patches in places and I met up with some friends who I havent ridden with in ages! Ended up having about 14 runs! Sweeeeeeet! Really reminded me how much I like riding and I can't wait to get a DH bike again!!
