What were the trail conditions at afan like today. Want to head down there tomorrow but heard it was snowing there today?

Cheers

*bump

also heading down tomorrow... metoffice is saying heavy rain and high winds! Should be intereting.

Any clashes with the Enduro this weekend?

I'm there this weekend. I have just phoned Skyline Cycles to see what (if anything) would be affected by the gravity enduro. They have not heard that any of the trails will be closed, but there obviously might be some disruption. Which seems fair enough!

I'm hoping to do Skyline Sat afternoon and Whites / The Wall Sunday 🙂

Ah, cool, thank you! I assume there will be diversions marked up on the trails? Not sure my knowledge of Afan is good enough to make my own way around dead ends!! 😆

What's the best tyre for the trails there? I currently have HD's on but toying with the Nobby Nics, or a combination?

Personally I always run a 2.35 Minion on the front and a High Roller (same size) on the back all year round. You can get faster rolling tyres, but I like my tyres to grip so they work for me! Works well on rock / roots and not too shabby on muddy stuff.

Personally i'm not keen on NN's - not grippy enough for me!

No issues about on any of those routes on the gravity enduro. Had quite a bit of rain here past 24 hours but those sections dont seem to hold much anyway.

Bottom end of graveyard might be the worse.

Thanks very much - i'll take my chances with the rain / mud (can't be any worse than the New forest!) 🙂

Weather forecast for Afan this weekend is dry but hovering around zero degrees. It should make spinning the spanners at the Gravity Enduro a little less than pleasant. Hopefully The Billy Can will be on hand for plenty of hot coffee.

Was there last weekend. The trails have a lot of holes all holding water so don't forget your waterproof shorts and socks.
