Sneaking in a visit to Afan whilst staying nearby at one of the in-laws places. So, I've got a few hours to spend there on Saturday and need a recommendation on what to ride.

Most of my normal riding is on black trails and harder reds, but I will be riding on my own, so don't want anything super risky.

What's my best bet?

Cheers,

JP

Cheers. That was what I was thinking, but wondered if there was anything else to consider.

I think Whites is the better trail but not everyone agrees with that.
Feels like you get more descent for the effort.

Here's a link to the current trail notice for what's open. Nothing is especially risky, it's just about linking stuff together.

I agree that whites level is the best trail there. Compact but lots of fun. I even like the climb.

Rode Blade in the end.

Bit disappointed - seemed like a lot of climbing for relatively little reward. Only the final descent was remotely technical - everything else felt like a blue. Great views and scenery, though.

I imagine that the better trails are off piste somewhere, but I didn't have the time or energy to find them.
