Got a oversized reflective jacket that's slowing me down, any good value aero options out there for riding in the cold and rain?

Depends what you mean by good value.

The Castelli Alpha ROS jacket is probably as good as anything on the market but it doesn't come cheap.

For something a bit less pricey, have a look at Lusso and Galibier. Decent discounts often available on Gore stuff too which is always very well made.

Rapha Core Rain II is quite a slim fit and £100. Also rolls up small and fits in a jersey pocket.

I also have the Endura FS260 Rain cape (£65 ish), which folds up super small and also slim fit, but I wouldn't want to spend that long in heavy rain in it, fine for the odd shower or two.

I've ridden with mine in many a downpour and only get damp underneath. Not very aero though partly because I need a medium purely because the small is too tight across the shoulders.

The Lusso Aqua Repel jacket is very good and my standard winter wear.

I have an Agu thing from Planet X which is cheap as chips, quite tight fitting for a big fella like me and pretty rain proof.

Gets a little steamy in summer rain, ok in winter.

For road riding / commuting I assume? Castelli Perfetto is my go-to piece from October to April. They are currently around for £90-100 in the sale. Not waterproof, but highly water-resistant and very breathable. Most people in my road club have at least one!

Thanks for the suggestions, if I can find something under £50 that would be ideal.

Regarding sizing, I'm 6ft3 90kg, 33" waist and broad shoulders (athletic build), would a medium be too small, perhaps large is generally the right size?

Endura MTR is good for light showers and not too hot.

I have one of these, £35. Only once ridden it in rain, stayed dry for an hour of moderate rainfall. Perhaps more of an emergency jacket than a daily commute thing as it's quite thin for packability.

My go to is a fell running jacket.

Omm kamelia it's stretchy so it's cut nice n it's fully waterproof

Those convertible Magma jackets at PX look interesting for £34.

My Altura Peleton Transformer is decent for wind protection for approx 2-13C, wouldn't expect it to be much use against more than light shower.

My Boardman convertible highly reflective jacket is great for visibility and rain, but it has no breathability whatsoever!

My PX Hydrosphere is fine for commuting as regards rain and breathability, but I suspect I'd be melting if trying to hold ~275W+ for up to ~15mins up the catagorised climbs near Butser Hill... Albeit I've only been caught in one proper shower up there since summer 2017.

DHB Aeron storm flt.

Good fit and great performance for the price. I tried on so many jackets that fit in the body but had ridiculously too big arms and shoulders. DHB is bang on size wise for me.

I've got a PX Magma jacket that's dirt cheap as does the job for commuting. Good, snug fit, long back and whilst not waterproof it does the job. I throw a gilet on top of it's really wet and that combo works well.

Castelli Perfetto, worth the money, with a long sleeve merino base good to 2-3C

If you can find one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133042842053 in your size they are also good, almost totally waterproof and good well below 0, although if the temperature gets much above 5-6C they are very sweaty. I got mine off Scott Thwaites, and he trained in them all winter in Yorkshire

@calv145 What pockets does that DHB Aeron storm flt have? Somewhere to put my phone (that isn't the back pocket) ?
Thanks.
