You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello all, just joined so still trying to find my way. My current bike is starting to show its age, it is a 2014 Merida Big7 100. It’s been a great bike and the frame is in really good condition. I have bought via a friend a new X fusion air fork, but after my last few rides it’s clear I need a new drivetrain. Also a new rear wheel. Now, do I spend money on a 1x drivetrain and new wheels or do I take advantage of my works cycle scheme. Have narrowed it down to 4 bikes I like the Trek Roscoe 7, the Orbea Alma, Orange clockwork and the On One Scandal. Has anyone got any advice in these bikes? Would appreciate any info. Will also start searching this site. Many thanks
Hello and welcome.
You will find....support, information, insults, responses which are tangential your question, middle class angst, stuff that makes you smile, stuff that gets on your t**s.
Having said all of that....if you're thinking of using employer's cycle to work scheme it might be sensible to wait unless you're 100% comfortable about employer.
Your current shortlist of 4 will be massively expanded by the collective based on them recommending what they already have.
Thankyou very much. They offer cycle2work and cycleplus schemes. The Orbea and the Trek are in 2 local bike shops which accept the voucher, the orange and on one I would have to see if they accept them online 🤞
Trek Roscoe is a great bike 👍
Lbs can’t get the trek until late July. Does anyone have any experience with the orange clockwork 27.5? Cheers
