I've acquired a softer spring for my wife's ancient Axels, but its the wrong model year, and is about 1cm too long.I'd have a go,but think I'd need an angle grinder.I'm reluctant to shell out for a one off job,can I get an adaptor for an electric drill,so I can use a cutting disc on it? Or any other ideas?

BITD - literally 20 years ago, I shortened a pair of Iddon Zed spring with a hacksaw and a file. Worked fine.

I've already taken the teeth off two blades, and not made a noticable mark.
