Hi
Is Healy nab DH or XC?
Is it a push up or a loop round?
Want to take my son but not sure which bike he should/could take.
Cheers.

Thanks. Is there enough to warrant taking a DH and pushing up? Maybe for a couple of hours?
Also could you advise where I’d go to start?
And finally (soz) would you recommend it?

I just ride around the xc bit as part of a bigger loop occasionally. It's a couple of km although looks like more stuff is getting built. I don't do the dh bit (it doesn't appear to warrant a dh bike though)
A couple of colleagues went and had a play there on Sunday... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1547073295360300&id=220676451333331

I ride from my house so don't know where people park up if they drive there. Maybe Rivington barn and ride over from there?

I'd take an xc bike as there's plenty of riding around the area.

It's not very big it's good for its size though

There's a red route, numerous 'black' runs and some cheeky off track stuff around in the nab too. I wouldn't ride a DH bike on it, though plenty do.
You can park on the laybys on Higher House lane, or nearer to Anglezarke, you could also park at White Coppice.
Other good riding in the area, Darwen tower, Brinscall, Great Hill & Rivington. Quite tricky to explain where but if you need a loop let me know, I'm sure other people can point you in the right direction too.

If you just want to play for a few hours then I'd say yes take the DH bike and just do the runs. If you want longer ride take a trail bike and do the loops. The place is only small and probably not worth a big drive. Park on Higher House Lane layby and follow the path up the hill, as you bear round to the left near the top carry on for a bit and look for a right hand (steep) turn, carry on up and round through the old quarrys and you'll get there.
