Evening
For those that read it on another thread, I wanted to get a Croix De Fer frame only and build it up myself, but I can't get hold of a 56 frame, all gone according to the supplier.
I'm 5" 11 with a 33" inside leg, so I would say that has me firmly on a 56 frame.
Now, my road bike is a 56 with a 560mm tope tube, and im running that with a short stem otherwise I just feel to stretched out.
The Croix De Fer in a 54 frame has a top tube of 545mm, do you think I may be more suited to that?
I don't really know much about geometry as such, but if my reach is the same and I can always raise the seat, will I notice any difference?
My best bet is obviously to go and have a look at both size bikes built up, but what do you lot think of my reasoning there, or have I got something fundamentally wrong?
Any input appreciated, thanks.

Im the same height as you only a bit shorter in the leg. I have a 56(well actually its called a 57) Bianchi with a 560 top tube and a 54 Allez with a long stem that also seems to measure 560 across the top tube both fit fine.
So was in a similar position when looking at the Genesis and sitting in the shop the 54 felt ok as they often do, a little more manageable.

However...on riding them the 56 was definitely the right bike, IMO they don't fit very big on the test it rode very chuckable if you know what I mean.

So much so when the dealer told me it was the last available I bought it!
Sorry.

You may get away with a 54, they come with a long stem but especially with a 33 leg I reckon you would be better on a 56.

I would have thought a 56 would be better. My CdF is a 52 and am 5'5".

Evans have 56cm in stock.

Code ECWL7R should give you a fiver off as well. Plus 3% off via Topcashback/Quidco if you use those.

...oh, and 5'7" on a 52cm here.

Jamie, funny enough I've just found them on there myself, thanks though.
I'm wondering if the supplier has sold out but Evans being a big chain obviously have some in stock.
I'll see if I can get to a store and have a looksie.
