Hello All.
Im looking for some advice as to be honest I know very little about MTB but want to get into it with a decent but not too expensive bike.
3600 is my limit so I considering these bikes (in no order of preference) and perhaps you could help.

I haven't ridden any of them but the voodoo does seem to get some excellent reviews from various magazines.

If a Medium there's also this:

But I'd probably get the Voodoo. Just be aware that Halfords are often a bit crap. If you prefer to build a relationship with a local bike shop, then a Specialized or last year's Genesis might be good options.

I have an Orange Clockwork S for sale which can be had for less than that depending on the specification that you want with it.

I have the Cooker. I bought it as a Cooker 2. However it's now moulded into more than a Cooker 2.

the XCT Forks are too soft for 85kg, the brakes are rubbish....

However it made an exceptionally base bike to upgrade. I've now put new brakes on it and new (second hand) forks. It's now brilliant. 🙂

voodo bizango end of thread! Have a look at the reviews, great bike, good spec for the money too, handles well and its a fast bike with the wagon wheels. Its so much fun sometimes i prefer riding it at swinley instead of my full susser expensive bike! 🙂

Thank you for all of your replies and helpful advice.
Befor I make my decision can you tell me what you think of the Vitus Sentier 275 VR as it won the HMBR Hardball of the year and is only a fraction more than Im willing to pay so might be worth paying the extra.
Thank you

The Bizango gets a lot of good feed back, and if you sign up to the halfords emails, you get notification for a one day online 10% discount before too long (maybe 2 wks at most). There are a number of way to further try to get reductions, no idea if this helps tempt you towards one, but if I was in the market with that money, it's what I'd buy 😀

It depends what kind of riding you do and your background, look into wheelsizes before you buy and see if it matches what kind of riding you want to do. If your not fussed heres a summery of the internets opinion, 29ers are faster, 27.5 are a marketing ploy and 26ers are more fun and [img] [/img]

If your after a 29er id go voodoo
