Guys,

My friend is looking to get his Recons serviced but is struggling to find a quality bike mechanic that doesn't charge the earth. He's looking to spend around £60 - are there any bike shops/mechanics that you recommend?

Cheers.

Oil and seal change which certain companies call a 'full service', or full professional service are two different things 😉

We charge £75 for the later we're based in South Wales if that's any use 😀

LoCo makes a good point.

Oil and seal change is a piece of piss and you could easily do it yourself for the price of (assuming you haven't got them) a pair of circlip pliers, some IPA, a 24 mm socket, fork oil and new seals (£45 tops and you'll have everything except seals the next time you want to do it).

If you are after something more performance-orientated then you are looking at a pro-job.

It depends if you want performance enhancement or just keeping them running.
