need some advice - got Hope V2's with 203 rotors - I think they are currently fitted with sintered pads. Planning on taking the bike to CwmCarn and Afan end April.

Currently in wet weather the brakes make a right racket I've heard this is typical of sintered and Hope's??

About to stock up on some pads and was just wondering on what some of you advise (other than switiching to XT's :-))

Thanks

I have two sets of V2s and have run with both Hope organic (in Alps) and sintered (UK) in all weathers and have never had any noise issues.

My old M4s however, howled like a banshee.

Maybe they are contaminated?

Sintered all the way baby! - Ceramic and organic will last all of 2 seconds in mud and wet.

You need to bed them in whatever they are resin or sintered, the reason sintered howl more is generally folk look out the window, see its raining and bung in some wet weather pads, then they don't get a chance to heat up properly because of all the water sloshing about and cooling them down. Go to a big hill and do 20-30 hard stops down the hill. If you can't do that then resin should be ok for welsh trails at the weekend, still need bedding in though, otherwise they'll last about 30 seconds

Thanks Nick - I inherited the pads with the brakes and didn't change them cos the seller said they were fairly new, the stopping power is great tbh just that the noise can be grating...

Will bear in mind what you said..
