After a really bad day at the office yesterday and a pair of stupid crashes ,this is what im left trying to sort, the LBS has quoted something £370 for a new CSU and a lower leg service , that seem right? Or can the stanchions be replaced. Failing that would i just be better off ponying up for a new set of forks and try to sell these?

Any advise always welcome as long as it isnt slow down 🙂

Marks on the stanchion and on the lowers

I saw your photos on Facebook. Just grab some 2nd hand Yaris for about £200 and use the CSU from them. Just ignore the scratches on the lowers as they won’t be the last (or get some black paint if you really want)

price sounds right via the official Sram tech centre. but a new fork is probably not far off that

i used RSF to replace a stanchion on a pike a couple of years ago and had no issues, he also changed the steerer for me as that had a little wear on it. a mate has also just used him to do a stanchion on a virtually brand new 36 he damaged crashing in a race.

Just how badly marked/scratched are the stanchions? If it's light scratching and fairly high up the stanchion it may not cause much of an issue.

I have a set of Marzocchis with an ugly looking scratch 2/3s up but the scratch is light and I've just got on using the fork. It doesn't seem to have affected how they work. Due to where the scratch is the amount of time that section is hitting the seal isn't that often. They not on my most used bike though
