afternoon all,
hoping to head out onto the moor to do a two day walk with the wife as the grandparents in Tavistock are looking after the nipper. wanting to explore the NW corner of Dartmoor, so probably heading out of meldon and then up through black tor woods and onwards. I've been nosing round the OS map for what might be a nice place (relatively sheltered) for a bivvy, but it's hard to tell really until you're there on the ground. So I was wondering if anyone's got any recomendations, if you don't mind sharing secret bivvy spots that is...
cheers

A

I have bivvyd on Lydford tor a couple of times, can find shelter between the rocks, but great views either side, across Cornwall and out across the hoe.

Out from Belstone is a good bet, although NE. Good parking and pub in really nice area. High moor is easily accessible with riverside valley or Tor top bivvy. Out above Sourton tor also is good.
