Off to the Alps in a couple of weeks on my trusty hardtail for some early summer cycling.

Looking at getting some fresh tyres to go on Mavic 819 rims.

Would people go with 2.35 or 2.5 tyres? Was going to go with a Minion super tacky front and High Roller 60a rear......is this a good combo or are there others?

If you're going to be using chair lifts, then go 2.7 front and 2.5 rear. Go large or go home and all that!

If you are pedeling back up, single ply minons front and rear 2.5s worked for me.

This is exactly what I use for guiding. 2.5", proper UST.

Maybe a smidge wide for 819s, but should be fine I think.
