i have an old hope vision 2 led light with an epic battery that attaches to the bike with a stretchy velcro strap.

the problem is that when i try to fit the battery to my bars or frame i can not keep it secure (when i go offroad it will def come loose and bang about bars or frame).

it has 2 slats for the strap to go through but no other fixing type mounts. any idea how i could fit the battery to my bike securely but not damage the bike? am a numpty when it comes to anything diy etc

thanks in advance 🙂

ps i still have original box and everything inc helmet adaptor and extension lead but would like to fit to bars if possible as it is my only light.

I used to secure mine under the stem and use an extra Velcro strap to keep it stable. Stems are a bit shorter nowadays though !

thanks for the reply

man i was having a stupid moment (i have them a lot lol).

my stem is one of those 2 piece renthal stems quite short.

it just dawned on me why don't i put it on top of the stem then use the velcro strap to strap it on.

works like a charm and think it'll be fine offroad

man if i had a braincell i would be dangerous.

It's personal tastes but when I was running a single light I always favoured it head mounted, at least then it's pointing where you're looking rather than where the bars are pointing.

What about using a top tube bag?

Pop the battery in, zip up the zip up to the lead to the light.

Secure.

eg.

How about hanging it off your top tube? With the velcro tight and the cable neatly round the stem/bars ,no more rattling. 🙂
