I do a lowers service a couple of times a year, new seals and foam rings every year, and a air can service once a year. I think that this has served me well over the years but maybe a professional service would be better?
If you send it to the likes of Mojo, TFT, or Loco what extra do they do and do you feel the difference afterwards?
if done properly, it would seem an end user can not service a fox rear shock. You can do the aircan but if you need to change the oil forget it.
Currently my bike has minimal rear damping as the oil is dead. So when i do send it off whatever comes back will be better than what goes away.
I guess one of the big benefits is the ability to have then tuned.
I have to send my DHX away because it's a dodgy Specialized one with the boost valve removed and filled with nitrogen. I could do my 36's myself but they're the first generation RC2's with silly ballder to fill, bleed etc. They cane back from J Tech and felt loads better after missing their service for ages.
