Loving my new Stumpjumper 650 but would like it to be a little slacker and longer.
Now the bottom bracket height is already pretty low so offset bushes might be out of the question, but the crown race is a 10mm spacer to lift the front end up a little as its a 29er front end.
If i take out the spacer and put on a standard crown race, how would this affect the geometry? Also, possibly going to put a 160 Float 36 on but we shall see.
If i can get it to nearer 67 degrees that would be great.
Any ideas?
Well if you take out that spacer the front will be lower, which will = steeper
Angleset would be the obvious thing for you to try
As said above removing the spacer will steepen it, an angleset would slacken it but could also lower it. Longer forks would in theory higher the front end and slacken, could work well with an angleset.
How does the stumpy ride? I was seriously considering one but as you say it seems a little off in the angle department
Thats what i thought you guys might say.
Angleset isn't possible as the bearings sit straight in the carbon frame, annoyingly, or is it?
Bike is great. Have been on a Enduro 29er the past few months which was great but this one comes in at a fantastic price (due to working in the trade) and in a large, with High roller 2's on, it weighs an impressive 27 1/2 lbs with pedals.
Rides well, but would like it to be slacker. Might try some offset bushes
