I have purchased a set of the flexi style adjustable v brake noodles to get my pads set up nice and close to the rim as with the mini v brakes (tektro) using sti Road levers there are no barrel adjusters like on a mtb. The problem I am having is when fitting the new piece which is an anodised pipe style similar to the dia compe flexi version, it seems to be crimpling the metal cable area where the old noodle was and where this new metal flexi noodle is? Has anyone used this type of set up as there seems to be an issue with the flex pieces under tension. I was thinking of just putting the old more solid cased noodles back in but then I would not have the barrel adjustment which is why I have fitted this version. These new noodles are about twice the length of the standard tektro ones. Any thoughts or suggestions?

SJS noodles with adjusters work fine on my cross bike with Mini V's. Which ones are you using?

I am using the flexible style which is where the issue is, the flex section is about 8cm long and under tension when fitted it's coiling round slightly folding in and causing tension to be lost and inconsistent. I am thinking the solid type noodles, the first version in the links from sjs would be more suitable.

I use the solid ones with no issue. And they are cheap - watch for postage from SJS.
