Hoping for feedback from people who’ve tried these, before I get into a couple of weeks of box tennis with the Royal Mail and a large chunk of cash waiting to be refunded...   I bought and returned a pair of uk9’s last week as they were very tight on my little toes which felt compressed. They were obviously too small.

Right now I’m wearing a pair of uk9/43 five ten free riders which are near perfectly fitting.  I’m generally a 9.5 in Converse and 43 in FLR spds although they really wouldn’t want to be any smaller.  Adidas suggest the Trailcross runs large and advise half a size down from usual.  I do have fairly wide feet and Trailcrosses do have a fairly pointy running shoe toe.  Am I wasting my time trying to find a pair that fits, or am I likely to be better going half a size or a full size up?  Obviously going to a real shop and trying some on would be the best approach but I’m not aware of anywhere around Sheffieldish that would keep them in?

Thanks!

Do not know why they say they run small, I have to size up to 10 1/2. Having done that they fit well

I half size up in Adidas shoes. Normally 47, 48s in adidas.

I half size to a full size up in adidas.

I collect sneakers, mostly Nike and Adidas. Nike usually a 9.5 or 10, adidas 10 or 10.5.

converse 10. Giro 10, northwave 10 Mavic 10.

hope that helps a bit.

Same as sofaking. I have 9 Five10s and 9 Adidas and both fit great. Adidas are easier to get on though.

Just to confuse the issue I am a 47 in nearly everything including Shimano, 48 in old model specialized 2FO and 46.5 in Trailcross, 47 too big and 46 pinching. So that's all crystal.

Adidas and many other brands say that half sizes refer to increased size of the toe box, eg, trailcross in a 47 hurts my toes, 47 1/2 is spot on, but a 48 is too long,

I'm a 10 in everything, these included. Fit fine to me.

I found the trailcross to be pretty roomy, usually wear a 9 and the 9 /43 is spot on.

Maybe my feet are mutant wide then? 😂. Heel to big toe length didn’t seem bad, a bit tight maybe  but width was way narrow but it’s been a few decades since I last wore trainers that weren’t skate shoe style or converse.  Just debating whether to go up to a 9.5 or a 10.

In size 9 five ten free riders my big toe is in a sensible place and little toe more or less squarely under the notch at the end of the mesh top at the widest part, just before they start to narrow.

I take size 8/42 for everything (including 5.10s) except the Adidas Terrex, where I had to go to 8 1/2 / 42.5 as the 42 was too tight across the top of my (duck like) feet.

I tend to be an 8.5 shoe but I ride the adidas Terrex protect and other trainers I go for a 9.

Hm. So consensus is it’s probably worth trying the 9.5 rather than going all the way to 10 as I’m 9 normally and know that doesn’t work for me.

Ta guys! 😁

I find the length is about spot-on, but the fit is quite narrow. I have wide feet and they were pretty tight. On one foot, I've even bodged the lacing to give a bit more bunion-space!

I've had freeriders and Traicross (terrex Protect whatchamacallit), both fit best in 8.5 for me. The Adidas is ever so slightly smaller on the toes, so I could wear the freeriders in 8 but not the trailcross.

i have the trailcross boot and i'm a uk9 in every * brand ever, (i have had more adidas than most)

[* excluding gazelle 2, rom where im a uk9.5]

in the trailcross curb (summer trainer) i got a uk9 fit a little big if im honest, thicker sock perfect (stealth sole isnt as good as trailcross protect)

in the trailcross protect (ankle boot) im a uk9.5 purely for a waterproof sock it fits well, it'd be a little lose in a thin summer sock..

ps. always pay with paypal and then on paypal site opt in to the free returns process. they refund upto 12 returns per annum, hence order the shoes from sportsshoes (bradford) and return, take a picture of the packet and upload the receipt (2nd signed for) , then on the paypal on the purchase click into and request shipping refund, Easy

My Trailcross fit just the same as other shoes - also the grip on pedals is noticably better than 5:10s
