There are a 9 sculptures locally that act as way markers for a short stretch (Wells - Glastonbury) of a Sustrans route and I've noticed that they don't appear on Google Maps.
I've added them as waypoints to my Garmin and can export them as a GPX file but adding them to Google Maps is problematic. The 'Add a missing place' option requires that you individually enter details (for Google to verify) and to set the location you actually have to set a pointer on the map which is displayed in a very small windows and is ridiculously fiddly. The process also requires an address, which they don't really have.
It is possible to import a GPX into the My Maps section and it works well, but I think here that you're essentially creating your own map (which can be shared) and the places don't show up on the main Google Maps map.
I might be being an idiot but I can't work out how to sort this out.
Can you not stand by the sculpture and add the POI to Google Maps there?
