Hi, is there a way of setting a specific bike, to a different cycling activity?

On my Garmin i can select Mountain/Road/Gravel and commute as a cycling profile, but I can only set 1 bike to be added to garmin connect automatically under 'cycling'. To change the bike used, I need to go into garmin connect and change it manually.

Not that I know of. Strava added this ability a couple of weeks ago though.

No, I have different profiles for either my Enduro or the Scandal, but in reality I mostly know which bike I was riding at the time anyway as the rides are so different

Ah, I guess that's a handy way of doing things, just set up multiple profiles on my Edge. Rather than MTB covering many bikes, have a profile called Occam, Fatbike etc.

Do you mean based on the profile used on my Garmin I can make Strava choose the right?

Currently everything defaults to my MTB and then I change it in Strava.

I'm not Garmin, but would love this on Polar as I have speed and cadence on some bikes and none on others. The different polar bike profiles don't allow me to assign different sensors to that profile.

But having just read Scotroutes post about default bikes for different rides, and having just assigned bikes on Strava, it feels like that takes care of everything.

OK that sounds good but… I can’t find it? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: Aha! If you edit the bike details it’s there. Now I’ve got a profile called Gravel and MTB on my edge explore, I’ll see if it works properly.

I can’t add any extra profiles and annoyingly I’m stuck with the trainer one that I’ll never use.

@phil5556 drain link posted above

But edit your bike setting for each bike to assign activity. Untick irrelevant ones for your previous default bike

I've been meaning to sort this out for ages. Accurately tracking bikes on bike rides would allow me to establish how long gear lasts e.g. tyres, chains etc.

@molgrips have a look at Hubtiger app. It links to Strava and copies across time & distance for each ride and links it to your bikes.

You can put in components with service intervals.

^^ strava now allows components on your bikes to be recorded too

Hubtiger app.

Didn't get on with that one but ProBikeGarage is my preferred option that does a similar thing.
