What are the options to add a second larger bottle? Piggy back shock means I can only fit in 1 350ml fidlock bottle, would like more capacity.

I had an Aeris 145 and an aether 7 - other than adding something under the downtube or top of the top tube (neither desirable for me) I don’t see where else to put one.

Looks like BBB or Topeak etc do zip tie sort of straps which would do the job but I’d definitely put 3M frame protection tape under that sort of thing to avoid damaging the tape. Never used them to see how secure they’d be.

I just carry water on me most of the time - got a new Camelbak Skyline LR which has a 3 litre bladder in it that sits nice and low which I use most of the time now. I’ve also got a Camelbak repack which I use for shorter rides - which has a 1.5 litre bladder in it.

I can squeeze a 500ml bottle on my full suss bike which I’ll use for hydration drinks on longer / hot rides and just keep plain water in the camelbak.

Might not be the cheapest place even with 10% extra discount, but https://www.rutlandcycling.com/accessories/bottles-and-cages/bottle-cages/topeak-handlebar-or-seatpost-bottle-cage-mount/TCM01.html

Got one in '18 to have a third bottle (on seatpost, but it can be used on bars too) in the summer heatwave.

Can you make more room for the current bottle? On my Aeris 145 I have one of the Bird angled cage mounts and a Topeak bracket to move it a couple of cm down. The two of them together mean I can fit a much bigger bottle as it has moved the bottle down and back from the shock.

Caveat is that mine is an XL and had lots of space in front of the bottom bracket for the bottle to shift back into.

I have space for a 750ml Hi5 bottle in my AM 160, with piggyback shock.

I use a spacer to get the angle right, then on a Birzman plastic side exit cage (other cages available) I cut the stop off the back of the cage.
The bottle can then slide all the way back to the seat tube. The dropper cable stops paint rub.

Works perfectly.

I'd take the old bottle off, look at the space available and work from that. Mines a large frame.

Alternatively if you just need some more room could you move the bottle down?

Running bottles are quite easy to lash to your frame.

Waterbottle Space Maker

Basically that plus a spacer on the lower boss to adjust the angle.

I'd forgotten the adaptor

Also worth noting that the Elite Fly (also sold by Prime/Nukeproof, but oddly for more money) is the shortest 550ml around. Helps when these things matter!

Get one of these and then you can offset it to the non driveside and run a bigger bottle

On my aether 7 I fitted an adapter which means I can mount the bottle further back, which gained me 250ml. I made a handlebar mount for when I need more.

Granite, sks and twofish all make velcro based “remote attachment” cage holders for around £15. Cage is extra. I’ve an AM9 and went through the whole “put it all on the bike” like the mags say we should. Gave up as the bottle would either be in direct line of crud or somewhere on the frame that always got in the way. Then they get knocked and move so catch pedals, nuts, shorts when standing over the bike.

Plus to survive more than an hour i need more than one bottle anyway!

I Gave up wasting miney on options that were bikepack orientated and for MTB, mediocre to a pain at best and just use a small low rider pack.

Leisure lakes have the granite. I think i got an sks mount from them too. The Twofish one I cant remember but think it was something like MTBriders or one of the more long distance bikepacking orientated shops.
