Heading for some surgery down there soon and read a bit online about these noiseless saddles. Any real life experiences ? Thinking MTB and Road possibly.
I nearly bought one, but opted for a Fizik Tritone instead, as it looked marginally less disturbing.
Haven't fitted it yet, it just sits on the table mocking me.
Thanks, think might take a punt on the Peak one, which is MTB specific
Use one for time trials and it sort of works in that position. Not sure if it would be much of an advantage over a normal saddle with a channel in it for a more sat up position.
You can demo these saddles.. Have a look here:
http://www.pedal-pedal.co.uk/ism-adamo-road-saddle-black-demo.html
From my experience, they're not an instant fix and you'll need to persevere with set up adjustments and training your body to like it.. That said, I did eventually get on with my demo one. And I'd buy one if they were more affordable. They hold value on eBay too.
What sort of surgery?
I had a hydrocele testis and an ISM saddle was the only thing that kept me riding while waiting for the operation.
I got mine from Trybikestore when they were doing free 14 day trials, although I can't see any mention of that on their site now, so maybe they don't do it any more.
Try that link above if you want to demo one, all it will cost is the postage.
It does take a week or so to get used to. I've got four of them and it feels odd riding a bike with a normal saddle now, a bit like riding on flats when you're used to clipless.
MTQ - thanks for info, will get a demo one to try before my op and then decide whether to purchase for recovery. Prostate op..
Got one on my tt bike, was very good but does need some tinkering to get it set up right.
Echo the tinkering comment. There is a bit of a dip in the mid portion of the saddle and I found it best to sit in that dip, rather than on the nose (as you would usually do on a TT saddle.) Has taken quite a bit of tinkering to get the tilt right too, it isn't like a normal saddle.
I love my Peak but that may not be a lot of help to you ;-).
Also originally demo-ed one through Trybikestore, bought one then quite quickly got another one for the commuter bike as well. Had them for a year, no visible wear or tear so far.

Half a dozen rides in and I'm a convert ! Peak is very comfy after initial fiddle and setup and no pressure at all on soft bits 😀
I did a demo through Pedal-Pedal - very helpful and quick service.
I think it was a Podium I got in the end - bit longer and a little more padding. I had some lumpy bits that suddenly made a normal saddle unbearable - the ISM instantly solved that and currently don't feel the need for surgery (which was the other alternative).
Took a month to get fully used to the "wide" feeling but now don't notice it at all. Certainly nothing like a Brooks saddle break in period (that can take years).
Worth every penny.
^^ I take it that's on a road bike mick ? I may well move to a podium one to replace spesh romin evo on road bike next summer. The Peak on MTB has been a revelation and I have one waiting for new 'adventure bike' 🙂
I ended up with an Adamo TT saddle on my TT bike after trying a Profile Stryke (ok on a 10 but absolute killer on 25miler; for sale for £30 posted), Specialized Sitero (great at bloodflow to the wang but didn't get on with the flat top, for sale for £65 posted), Fizik Arione Tri2 saddle (didn't get on with perineal pressure, for sale for £45 posted)
The Adamo TT is very comfy but yes it is weird having the noduley bits stick either side.
Really considering one for the road bike but currently in a love/hate relationship with an arione CX
Nope - [s]Podium[/s] Breakaway (def not a Peak) on an mtb. Did Pyrenees this summer with lots of steep and absolutely no problem getting off the back (better than most regular saddles).
It was described as a more padded version of Podium, good for climbing.
I have an Adamo TT for TTing on - which is great.
I tried a few times to use it as a road perch, but I could never get it to work for me on the road.
Thanks, biggish ride on Peak today, Conic Hill and surrounding area and lovin it 🙂

mick_r - keen to hear how you like the Breakaway as I'm wondering about this for road bike. Seems like the Podium, Breakaway and Prologue are same design, but with increasing levels of padding (and the Prologue is a good bit cheaper but heavier with cromo rails)
