I've built a few wheels in the past, typically using either DT or Sapim spokes...

The cost of both brands seems to be going up thanks to Brexit fever, and I've found a relatively cheap source for ACI 'Alpina' DB spokes, so are they any good or should I pay (near enough double) for Sapim?

For regular double-butted, I've never noticed any difference - built plenty of wheels with them and never had a spoke break. For cheaper DT Swiss or Sapim, buy from Germany.

i've built a number of wheels with ACi Alpina, both road and mtb. they're fine, never had a problem and they're good value.

I've used them on a few builds, no probs, iirc Cycle Basket was the best price.

I use ACI Alpina all the time in my builds - excellent spokes. Got 4 pairs with them in.

No problems either with the double butted ones from cyclebasket.com, 21p a spoke (inc. nipples), can't go wrong.
