After making a mistake with a new 29er build at the end of the year I’d been researching options.
After a test ride I settled on a Bird AM9 which then promptly went out of stock when I was able to pull the trigger.
The good news is I waited and got the revised tweaked version when they landed back in the country.
IT IS FRIKKIN AWESOME!
yes possibly a bit new bike, the build kit is 51mm offset rather than the new shorter and I still haven’t quite got the shocks set up perfect.
But it is one of those bikes that you do the extra lap on, or start hopping off everything in sight or start seriously trying to learn to wheelie and manual.
Sorry needed to share, if tempted get a test ride!
Cheers Bird
I expected at least 1 photo. 🙁
The only one I’ve got is rubbish, too busy enjoying it!
I will make amends ASAP

What tweaks have they made to the latest version?
My frame came with different cable clamps on the down tube to my buddies, they’re like stars that clamp the cables rather than the c clips. They’re still used at the very top and along the chainstays. Also there was a nice machined alloy wedge included that allows a water bottle to fit into the frame.
Both nice additions in my opinion. I’ve not noticed anything else but there may well be.

The top clamps are very similar if not the same
In yet to hear of anyone who’s bought a Bird and now been delighted with it.
Welcome to the Flock 😉
I’m really enjoying my old Bird at the moment. It’s been a confusing on-off-on-off relationship for the past four years but right now it’s 100% on! It’s always played second fiddle to my full-sus but after a couple of weeks riding steep loose rocky trails as interludes to my family holiday it’s proving a lot of fun, to the point that I’m considering taking it on my next Wales trip, uplifts and all, despite the lack of rear suspension!
Great looking bike!
