You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Heading up on Sunday to try the trails. Where is the best place to park
In town at the main car park at the tourist office. Conveniently also right beside the amazing butcher for post-ride food
Main carpark in town, then pedal up Dukes pass and onto the trail after the left hand bend on the road..
Don't forget to warm up at the ickle jump / MTB park. It's great fun - just past the kids playground as you pedal out of the wool centre end of the main carpark.
You can then get to the trails by crossing the road at the kids play park, turn left and then follow into the woods at what looks like mcmoonter's wood shed. Turn left at end of first singletrack, through outdoor centre and you are almost at the end of Bat House descent.
Thanks guys
What sort of riding is there? Never ridden there but I've driven past a million times (and hooned round the duke's pass more than a few)
What sort of riding is there
Steep and muddy. No huge long runs a la the golfie but what is there is pretty taxing. Some less steep stuff on the lower parts around go ape. Minute long runs at best though. Higher up stuff is tougher
Nice one, sounds relevant to my interests 🙂
Maybe look out my wet scream
Ben Cathro's done 2 or 3 videos from the annual Slip'n'Slide ride organised by Stu Thomson. There's at least one by McTrailrider too. These give you a good idea of what's on offer. All on youtube.
Definitely my favourite spot within an hour of Glasgow.
How did you get on? We will probably visit again tomorrow if its not too wild weather wise
It was slippery today...
Had a great time, very very rooty and tight. Will be back up soon
We went on Monday, as usual it can be hard to find your flow on some trails but when you do its a magic place. It was a touch wet but we missed the late afternoon monsoons thankfully!
