Aberfoyle logging

Sad to see the Go Ape singletrack descent, one of the older trails at Aberfoyle, has been trashed by forestry work. A real shame, as it made a great intro to the terrain there: plenty of roots and rock, but without the more severe gradient of the black-graded stuff.

Lots of timber left in situ at the minute; might look less bleak once they've extracted it. I've a vague recollection that they were planning on thinning out sections of the forest to improve biodiversity, so I wonder if that's anything to do with it.

Hope it doesn't extend further along the hillside; I'll weep fat, salty tears if they destroy Nimmo's.
