I was due to be riding the Grand Union Canal from Birmingham to London this weekend with a few friends for my birthday weekend. Was supposed to be train to Birmingham tomorrow lunchtime for beers and hotel, riding to MK ish with another hotel booked for saturday night and then down south on sunday.

I am viewing as a postponed and hope to do sometime again in the future as I think it will be a great trip.

Other casualties include WRT and Moors One Hundred and a three week family hols in Brittany for summer hols but not complaining because there are many worst off than me at the moment.

What has fallen by the wayside for you?

Lots, but very little of any importance in the grand scheme of things.

Should be flying to Majorca tomorrow for a week of sunshine and riding. At least it’s sunny here for now.

Also got a bike tour planned in Spain/France for September which will likely be postponed.

Not in a bad situation compared to some/many. So just trying to enjoy WFH and saving the pennies until plans can be made again.

Next would have been a week in the lakes in a s****y, hot-tub equipped AirBnB.

Rolled it over to next year.

I was meant to be just getting back from a few days in Wales, was going to do Cannock chase on the Sunday with a stop over near Shrewsbury, then Mon/Tues/Wed at Old-Skool mtb in Snowdonia, with an ascent of Cadair Idris one day, and Coed-y-brenin another day.

Had a Wildbike trip in Dartmoor booked for the middle of May, and a Snowdon wildbike trip (evening ascent + 2 more days riding) at the end of May - might still go ahead but it's looking very doubtful.

Got next week booked off as holiday, planned to do a second South Downs Way attempt if the weather played ball and a tour of North Wales if not. My fitness is the best it's been for a while thanks to a tough training regime since December and conditions are spot-on too according to my mate who lives down there.

Instead I'll be trying not to eat everything in the cupboards due to boredom.

@RJ - SDW is beautiful at the moment. Did Winchester to QE and back at the weekend. Still can’t clear that climb up to The Sustainability Centre though.

Should be going on honeymoon this year (Whistler/BC), having postponed it twice already, having got married in 2018.

What's another year eh...

Most if not all of this years Enduro races with Abigale, Steel City DH have now moved to 2021
Both of our riding trips in the camper to Italy will probably not take place.
Managed to get a few weekends away in the early part of the year.
Abigale should have just finished Uni and was disappearing for a year starting in Whistler but all that has gone o the wall. she has already missed the Easter Uni snowboarding trip to Andorra and is having fun and games trying to get a refund.
We have left all our bookings for the races and campsites in place as the organisers and site owners probably need the cash more than us to survive. Might be a bit naive of us but hopefully they will get through it.
Ill be happy when we all get through this, the local trails will keep us going till then.

I was hoping to head for Madeira for a week in September/October, had just contacted Freeride Madeira about availability when all this started ramping up. Would have been/will be my first ever MTB holiday and my first actual holiday in 6 years.

Big one was my brothers stag and then wedding, now pushed to December. Smaller ones were another attempt at the SDW after my failure last year.

Couple of ultras - one would have been just after Easter, and was second stage in the build up to the biggie in July. Bit of a pain as the first stage (a 58K race) went well, and the training was starting to build nicely. Just to have to do it again next year.

I'd planned over the winter to ride as much and as many places in the UK as possible this year.

Talk about jinx.

Missed a ski holiday in Samoens 3rd April to after easter weekend! that was the biggest bummer.

Skipton Triathlon last weekend, and A Day in Lakes Triathlon in June has been cancelled as well.

It's my birthday on Saturday, but as i'll be 44 i can't say i;m that bothered about it really!! Kids (well my daughter) has been planning some things for me, so that should be nice.

My usual may long weekend camping, My two week tour of Kintyre and Cowal. My plans for weekends riding, several long standing arrangements for meetups with pals. My trip to Amsterdamn to see my sister.

Basically everything that I had been planning thru the winter - and those plans give me something to look forward to. I am gutted but I know in my head its nothing big in the grand scheme of things but its still a big psychological blow

Should have been bikepacking the Empty Mountains in Spain this week.

It's pishing down out there! So dodged that one. Will go next May/June instead.

Supposed to be driving to Livigno in mid Sept for late season lifts ... still not entirely given up on that one yet.

On the plus side, you're not staying in Milton Keynes on a Saturday night.

I've often thought about doing this ride. I have commuted along the section from Milton Keynes to Blisworth then down the arm to Northampton many times. But I've never got round to riding the whole thing. Maybe next year now.

Nothing overly important for us, I'm missing my weekend in Fort William and the Mrs one in London but My daughter is moving from primary to secondary school this year so is missing out on her trip and various events they do every year so from a personal side of things its her I feel sorry for.

@curto80 - I know, which makes it all the more galling. It's the only thing I had as a definite in the diary all year too.

Mine and my eldests entire racing programme / calendar for the summer of 2020 has either already been canned or more than likely will be.

I don't personally see CX happening this winter either, so full steam ahead into 2021, probably.

So far a few days in the Peaks at Easter, a week in North Wales in June and 2 shows not cancelled but rescheduled (Simon Evans, which should have been tomorrow, now scheduled for October and Johnny Bramwell playing in a cave which has been moved to May next year).

Nothing too bad, and as has been said above there are folks in far worse situations a the moment

Should have been in Japan for two weeks over Easter. Binned as we could see what was happening there from a mile off.
Replacement Easter holiday in Fort William booked in February. Binned.
Planned on going around Europe in the 'velle for the whole of the summer holidays. Binned
Booked to have my motorbike shipped out to Spain to go ride in the Alpuharras in September for a week. Probably going to be Binned.
Meet up with Lister and my other mates from school/uni sometime in May, June or July. Binned.
If I was a dog I'd have put claw marks on the front door by now.

Worked out quite well TBH. Over the last 25 years I have generally averaged around 7 foreign holidays a year (including long weekend dashes) During that period I have never not had at least one set of ferry/tunnel/plane tickets booked; usually 3 or 4.

This year for the first time in quarter of a century, we have nothing booked at all. We managed to get our half term ski trip to Italy in days before they closed it all down and had nothing else booked for the rest of the year.

In a normal year we'd have 'bleau booked for Easter, Alps for summer, Mallorca for DWS in September and something for May & October.

So, no refund/insurance claim hassle for us.

weird

Footnote: And we're all well, working and healthy. Many people aren't. I'm very appreciative of what I have. God bless those more affected by all this.

We were just about to book our annual welsh uplift trip, ah well.

Non-bikey but I'd just agreed a short lease on a workshop with a 2 post lift, into which I was going to drive 2 cars and then drive one back out with all the good bits attached, then part out the rest. my mate Pete was going to come up and help, and we were going to document it as much as possible and see if anyone actually wanted to watch the video. But travel restrictions stymied the workshop and the teamwork and it's all puttered out 🙁 It'll get done, it just won't be as cool.

BPW/PMBA/Boltby/Ard Rock (probably), Holiday cancelled, Work, Sod all on. Basically 2020 is written off for me. On the plus side lots of time for 'daily exercise*'

*No car, No knar, Not far.

Should have been flying out for a weeks riding with Ciclo Montana on saturday morning.
It's my birthday on Sunday too.
Looking like our week with Bike Village in the Alps will also be canceled.
Oh well can transfer them to next year and on the scale of other problems seems irrelevant.
At least I've not got to pack and unpack 2 bikes 4 times.

Was supposed to be riding with 5 buddies in North Wales for a week next month, been doing trips like it since the mid nineties and known most of them 30 years plus. There's been gaps before so not the end of the world.

This year my OH suggested I do the Mega again, brilliant thinks l, then covid. I swear she had prior knowledge.
I managed to get an Ard rock entry too.

Well, the national indoor skydiving championships was due to be held in March over here, so that got cancelled. The association has basically stopped outdoor jumping now, so even though the season has started, no one is jumping. Hat means no practice for the outdoor competition season.

As there is also no travel, there is also no way to get to Belgium for the week of team training before the outdoor nationals and that means the chances of any type of outdoor competition is slim too.

Yay

Proper gutted.

I was due to ride the roam scotland rally next month. Bikepacking Edinburgh to Inverness. Flight and return to the Midlands on the sleeper train was all booked.

Trip to do Snowdon this weekend with the boys from this forum also cancelled.

I have one last thing I'm still holding on for, 'The distance' Bikepacking event in August.

Might just have to build another bike to keep me entertained

After 18 months of looking, had found what felt like the perfect house. Decanted flat into lockup, full redecoration done, STTC. Dammit! Still, the riding from here is arguably better and the box from the turbo I panic bought is proving adequate as a coffee table.
Mostly, am missing family, the plan was for mum, stepdad and hopefully siblings to all come for housewarming at new place from Aus. Plus my dad was due down here over easter. But again, as above, everyone I know is still healthy, and most of us are still employed.

Not much at really but I have been studying as well as working for the last two years so that meant planned trips were down to a minimum anyway.

Keswick half marathon was supposed to be in May but postponed til October. Got my money back from the hotel which I wasn't even expecting so can't complain.

Not really trip related but I am surprised to find that I have really not missed going to the pub, bars or restaurants at all and we used to do that stuff quite a bit.

Cancelled all our accommodation in BC for June last night, have to wait and see how the flights (Westjet) and car hire pan out and the race entries (st6) will roll over to next year. Had a couple of trips to Ireland go south as well and have the joys of Ryanair to contend with. It’s all a bit of a pain but in reality it’s not a big thing, could be a lot worse, both still working and family and old folks are all ok.
