Yes it s a Crank Brothers Rear Hub. Pawl spring (which closely resembles a Fork Seal spring) is all thats between me and my sanity.

It went ping when I carefully removed it from the hub as the internals of the hub was full of gopping ground up Swinley goop. I cleaned it all up and the spring is no more 🙁

It is now is in many bits, as it had as much structural cohesion as 400 year old lace thats been left out in the sun for a bit to long. I am not ham fisted.

Is there a bodge, fix? solution to my woes, or do I get a new silly spring from 2 Pure and put it all back together, flog the wheels and never buy CB stuff ever again!

Know how u feel. Had CB iodines for about 3 years now. 2 freehubs replaced under warranty, second time the spring disintegrated while out on the trail early 2012. Bodged with a thin piece of elastic that got me from peaslake back to the car parked in westcott. Spring has bust again and currently waiting for lbs where they were bought to get a replacement.. The only good thing is that they never quibble about the replacement bits all replaced for free although I have to pay a bit of labour when the replace the bearings again..
