Phone tftuned and see if they can obtain a Manitou Magnum pro. I have the Mattoc pro which has the same internals and it's awesome.

Cancel that, they only do a 120.

You forgot to mention how long you need the steerer.

When you say 110mm axle do you mean Boost, rather than 20mm x110mm traditional?

Sorry - missed the replies here

Boost axle as the ones I've got coming cheap are 15mm x 110. I know I'm not going to pick up a bargain cos it's another new standard

Head tube is 115mm and I'm putting an EC44 / EC44 angleset on so that'll add another 25mm. Stem approx 40mm? Mebbe 10mm spacers so steerer in the region of 180mm?

Been looking at fox 34 but there's none in stock at Mojo for another month. Considering a McQueen - not seen the manitou. Pike is an option but depends on condition and price. Budget isn't limited to £500

Yari doesn't have the same compression control as the McQueen roughcut damper...but not a bad option

Magnum looks a good option but maybe a little short in travel

I'd not thought of these before tho - so appreciate the replies

Pike is on the list but the Fox is the preferred option if I have some patience

If I don't then I may end up buying something that's available and then putting a fox on

Pike would be an expensive choice (new) in that scenario - I had one on the 5-spot before the Swoop and it was good but I can't find any 29er 130/140 cheap / s/h. Can a 150/120 dual be modded to give 130?

Buy a Yari for under £500 use it and if you aren't happy with the compression damping , which I find to be pretty good when you get them set up right , you can upgrade it to the charger damper and you have got a Lyric .

Availability seems to be the issue - particularly availability of the boost 140mm 29er variety

Other than that, I think it's a great idea

Need to see what comes in stock first tho

Cheers!

Never really use crc for bigger items - appreciate your reply cos that might just be the right one for me

Buy any 29er pike, then change the air shaft to one that suits. Usually plenty of folk wanting to swap, or failing that they aren't cripplingly expensive.
