After all of the what tyre threads this past 2 weeks i had a bit of a think about tyres, many moons ago i used kenda nevegals (2.35 dtc on the back and sticke on the front). Theys eemed robust and like MX tyres. I dug the Nevegal out of the loft and s;lapped it on teh back wheel tubeless on stans 355 rims (bit narorw but strong) and got a sticke blue groove off here for £3.70!!
ROde me today and they were great at everything - ok they don't roll that quick but i would rather have some grip tbh.

The blue groove on teh front was ace - so good i may well get a spare when cash is more forthcoming. The nevegal on teh rear was so grippy i thought it was running very flat!!

Thats that then - BG/Nev combo works well in the peaks, ok they may not be the new breed of PHAT/Cool tyres but they just work

Tyres that "roll quickly" are n ot gripping - hence rolling fast. I would rather have some grip and not the latest bells and whistles tyre that cost more than my car tyres
