We travelled over to coed y brenin on Friday just gone. We have been a few times and rode everything except tarw du so decided to give thus a try. Mate is on his full suss fir the first time iN a while so was expecting a good run. Set off from car park and he is immediately having gear problems a few stops to try and sort it and bot too bad. We get most of the way up first big climb when disaster strikes. Chain snags, pulls forward and snaps rear hanger. Nothing to hand to fix it so gave up and he sets if to walk back while we carry on.
We completed the course and get back to no sign of him. Thinking he must of got it sorted and gone on skills area. Ride up there and still no sign so we have a few runs round there.
Back to the car and there he us. Just got back after two hours or more when it should have only been around 20 min walk?? Turns out his legendary sense of direction had kicked in and he ended up in some little village miles away?? We have a good laugh at him and pack up to go home. I drop him off and continue home. By the time I get home he has rung to say he has left his new hydrapak in the car, only it's bot there. To round off his bad day he has list the bag and all the stuff in it. Rang the centre this morning but no sign I'm sure he will laugh at this one day, but not today!!

You've been watching to many 'Allo 'Allo repeats.

It comes to us all in the end. Personally I've forgotten my crampons when ice climbing, my charged cell when doing a through trip at OFD and my bike saddle when organising a single car/ mtb
shuttle on a kayak trip in the Alps. All of these things you do but once.

Yep, good dose of numptiness, quite how he took over two hours to walk back is beyond me, the centre is at the bottom of a valley! Just head downhill!

My comment sounded harsh: it should have been with a wink. We have all been there...
