So, what have you got that's new?

Just back from my first ride in a pair of these;

[img] [/img]

Very impressed. Stick like sh1t to a blanket. Was a little odd trying to remember not to "clip out" by flicking my heel out! Been so used to Time pedals on the bike I was on today! Not quite sure I've got the right tension on the laces as yet, as I got a little numb in the toe on long climbs, but really good on everything else. In fact, really, really good!

So, what's new in your bikelife?

Not ridden with them on yet but seem to fit correctly and feel comfortable walking around the house.

Supposed to be £16 but got a pair unused for £2.99 off ebay...bargain!

I'm definitely getting a SS bike, but can't make my mind up over building one of these with parts from the shops/shed/ebay/classifieds
[img] [/img]

Or just buy one of these complete and change the forks (for some I have in the shed)

SC Chameleon in XL - been waiting weeks due to some volcano dust 🙄

Can't decide to build it up or leave it hanging there to look at - but I have a lonely Rohloff & set of coil Pikes in the garage so I'm going to introduce them tomorrow 😛

I would probably recognise it with snow on the ground, not used to all this greenery at the moment.... 😉

Today Ive bought: -

Xt shifters from Ribble cycles £50
[img] [/img]

Xt shadow rear mech £34
[img] [/img]

Xt front and rear brakes £65 each again from ribble
[img] [/img]

Some mayhem shorts for £30 from merlin
[img] [/img]

A saddle for my fiancée £16 from merlin
[img] [/img]

Some Welgo MG1’s from merlin £31.50
[img] [/img]

And a few other sundries like gear cables and shimano hose olives, headset spacers…you get the idea.

Building up a second bike with all my spares for My fiancée. Took her out for a bike ride pub crawl a few weeks ago on a borrowed bike and she’s hooked! This lots getting bolted onto a 2009 malt1 with some fox vans for her. Not bad for a starter bike I think

CFH.
They look just the ticket for your local ride down 100yards of tarmac to the cafe for a portion of overpriced chips. 😉

Was in the Surrey Hills. Long(ish) climbs included the one up to the tower from Holmbury.

Got a new tarp during the week and popped down to Kingston today to get some guy ropes. This is result of a trying out my pitching with nothing to hold it up but the bike and a single carbon pole:

[img] [/img]

The new bars I'm expecting will give me slightly more headroom and sticks in real outdoors (instead of Bushey Park) will probably help too.

Completed my bmx the other day with a brake (which is awful at the minute). Dunno if I like it enough to keep it yet, haven't given it a go at any skateparks yet. Awful on dirt jumps as it's far too steep/twitchy and unstable for my liking. Our local miniramp is metal so its ridiculously slippy with slicker tyres on.

[IMG] [/IMG]

Tempted to sell it or swap for a Charge Plug/similar if anyone is interested 😛

Got them in an attempt to steer the tandem when the SSUK2009 female champion that is "thewhiteshoeracer" puts her stoking hammer down. 😆

they are special lol i think one should have a sole an inch thicker than other just to add to the effect

worse still i did a local ride today and thought i dont need knee pads on and i hit a tree a few hundred yards from end of ride. hit my knee so hard the seat twisted round 45 deg with the force ;-( still every days a school day. good to be back on the bike after over 8 weeks off 😉

With one crank arm an inch shorter so you can still ride OK...

Oh, and I forgot to say Clee cycles service was top - decent prices, free delivery, ordered on Sunday, delivered to my office (for obvious reasons) on Tuesday morning. No Haribo but I can live with that.
