According to Brompton, you can't use a C bag on an S frame. Is this really true and if so, why not?

Tall bag, low handlbars, bag attached to headtube.
My understanding is that it interferes with the steering.

I use a C bag on the S frame. Have had no bother for last three years.
Doesn't interfere with steering.
I do have Easton bars which are wider than standard but they're at the same height as Brompton ones.
