I love this time of year. None of the "is it worth getting covered in shite for a few minutes blast in the woods" I give myself in the winter or wet. My only chance to ride this weekend turned out to be between 7.30 and 8, the sun was shining, the trails were dry, the woods and lake were gorgeous. Half an hour wasn't very long, but flat out I came home feeling like I'd done something, like a lucky lucky boy and in a great mood for the day. I even felt the need to boast about it to you lot.
Which lake?
It's hardly a lake by northern standards, but UEA Broad. It's in the park where the Radio 1 Big Weekend was held a couple of weeks ago - which is over the road from me.
I've swam 2k in a lake by 7.45 and I really did get to willy wave when changing to warm sunshine.
