I've finally ordered a Sonder Signal Ti and between now and Monday I have to decide to go frame only or a slightly custom build based on the GX Pike version, depending on how many bits I want to change.

One thing that I need to order either way is a set of 29er wheels as the Sonder ones seem a bit on the lardy side. Top of the list is the Hunt Trail Wide wheelset.  On paper they look like a good option but I can't find any reviews and wondered if anyone had some experience of them?

If anyone wants to play the fantasy full build game and help my fragile brain I need everything bar the frame to come in under 2k..ish.

Cheers!

The Hunt wheels have barely landed in the country so there aren't going to be any reviews. They do look like they could be good and the trail wide look more interesting than the heavier 'enduro' wheels to me.

Maybe I should take one for the team and get some ordered.

Hunt wheels in general seem to be pretty solid.

I've put about 7k miles on my first set (including off-road and with a child seat) and they are still true and rolling well.

The second set (aero lights) are only about 500 miles in, but that includes taking them on the South Downs Way and smashing them into some rather large pot holes. No problems so far.

Can’t offer a very twchincal review....but I’ve got a pair, albeit in 650b. They’re great so far! Look great with the etched graphics and no stickers,a lot lighter than the WTBi29/Novatech hubs I took off and they sound cool without being too obnoxious!

Would definitely have another pair, and already thinking about another set for a new bike, and for the width/weight....couldn’t find anything that came too close without spending quite a bit more

Thanks Kipling, that was my thoughts too. I'd need to spend a lot more to get any advantage, on paper at least.  I'll give them a whirl and report back.
